Goodbye to Our Pastor

I think I have mentioned a few times that our pastor is ending his tenure at my church (they only get 12 years at one church in the Archdiocese of Chicago) at the end of the month. I am on the committee that helped prepare a report for the Bishop on the needs of our parish, plan goodbye celebrations and also welcome celebrations for our new pastor. This past Saturday was our big farewell party at a local banquet hall.

Adam and me

Dad and Mom

The whole fam-damily

There was a huge turnout. 329 people ended up buying tickets! There were beautiful speeches and we presented our pastor with many wonderful gifts from the parish.

Mom wanted me to take this picture because she thinks all the metal dishes stacked up look amusing.

We had a slideshow of pictures from the last 12 years.

This is one of the gifts we presented to him. If you look closely, inside the words, you can see hundreds of little pictures of parishioners. At the bottom it says, "There are many parts, yet one body" in the three main languages of parishioners, English, Spanish and Tagalog.

Can you find me???
