Ladies and Gentlemen, we have cucumbers!

Here they are! In all of their splendid glory! Last week when Amy and I worked in the garden we planted more cucumbers because the cucumbers I originally planted never grew. Bad seeds? Bad luck? We will never know. But what I do know is that the news ones are growing. In the picture on the left you can see them in a nice little row on the right hand side of the picture. There are 4 rows of them. Oh yeah, and I pulled out those phantom cucumbers that were never really cucumbers and we knew it but we were pretending so it didn't seem like such a sad situation!

Yesterday I also planted gourds, jack-be-littles (mini pumpkins), baby boos (white mini pumpkins), Luminas (white pumpkins) and a row of our regular Connecticut field pumpkins! You can see on the left side of the field where it has been tilled and planted. Adam is in the process of tilling the right side so we can get more planted.
In other vegetable news I also found more carrot seeds that I had yet to plant. Yah! Amy, I know you are excited! So I planted two more rows of those. Hopefully we will have more than 6 carrots this year!

I have no idea how you get stuff to grow. Seriously, I am so horrible with plants. I did plant hostas last year and they came up this year, that's about as fancy as I can get with plants. I don't really have enough room to even have a garden, but someday I would like to figure out how to actually grow food I could eat. I may hire you to give me lessons when I get a garden someday! :)
