39 Weeks

How far along: 39 Weeks-Officially full term!
How big is the baby: Baby boy is the length of a watermelon-about 20 inches! (A very heavy one at that. I did not carry a watermelon.)
Weight gain: 42.5 pounds. I decided this week that I look like I'm carrying triplets. Twins at the very least.
Rings: Still able to wear one ring. One day this week I couldn't, but the rest I could!
Belly Button: Flat would be the best description.
Doctor/Medical/Body Stuff: The elephant feet seem here to stay. I even took Friday (a SIP Day) off work because of them. When I sit for any length of time they balloon up to a level where I can't walk without limping! No way can I sit all day. Working has really been mostly fine though! My appointment today went well. I am almost 3 cm and 80%. I told her that the goal is to at least make it to the weekend! She seems to think that baby could come any time!
Labor Watch: At 38 weeks I started eating 6 dates a day. It is supposed to help with labor. There is actually real research about it! I should have started at 36 weeks though. I am also drinking Earth Mama Angel Baby Third Trimester Tea every day (with Red Raspberry Leaf). It is also supposed to help with labor. Neither will induce labor, but are supposed to help prepare your body. I do not plan to do anything that encourages labor until next weekend when my sister is in town! Then anything is game. I do not want an induction! Having a pain med free birth will be easier if I don't have to be induced.
Sleep: I started making myself a nest to sleep in at night and that has definitely helped a ton with the hip pain! My nest includes the Snoogle pregnancy pillow and a body pillow on the side of it so I am kind of suspended on top/between them. Then there are three pillows at the end of it to prop my feet up on, a pillow under my head and another between my knees! Not so easy to get in and out of every hour when I need to go to the bathroom. I could probably make money on YouTube videotaping myself doing so.
Movement: He continues to love to kick out my right side! It is so fun to feel him! I am totally going to miss my pregnant belly.
Food/Aversions: Not really hungry most of the time. It has been hard to make myself eat.
What I miss: Sleep! I don't think this is going to change for the next 18 years.
What I am looking forward to: Having this baby! It could be any time!
Baby Projects: The crib was delivered and assembled on Tuesday and I love it!! Not that he will sleep in it for a while, but it makes everything seem complete! Also, Adam's awesome brother painted the ottoman we bought, so the wood is white. Mom and I found an awesome grey patterned fabric that matches the chair well and Adam and I put it on. It looks great in the room! I wasn't about to spend $200 on a matching ottoman, so we bought the cheapest one we could find and made it work! All of our cloth diapers are completely washed, stuffed, and put away. All of the clothes are ready to go. Just a few things here in there in the room to finish! We got the car seat bases inspected on Saturday. Adam did a really good job! The fireman was impressed. My car just needed to be adjusted a bit.
Pearls from the Preschool:
"Miss Stephanie, your baby big!"
"Miss Stephanie, your baby growing!"
"Miss Stephanie, your belly big!"
Oh! And This: Our annual End of the Year Sing at school is on Tuesday. That has been my goal this whole pregnancy. I do not want to miss it! Most of my co-workers are just looking forward to seeing me try to get up from the floor at the end! Others are preparing to deliver the baby during the Sing!

The awesome email my sister wrote Little Man!

The crib! It makes the room look so complete!

The co-sleeper is set up in our room!
It isn't attached to our bed yet though. I don't need anything making it more difficult for me to get in and out!

Sorry for another gross feet picture. But, really?!?

We took a cousins picture (of who was there) at Zowie's 21st bday celebration Saturday.
Chase is "holding" Little Man!
